In New Zealand, a song that can only be heard by dogs, topped the charts at Christmas. The song, A Very Silent Night, was released to raise money for the SPCA.
I’m not sure how a track that’s completely silent gets to the top of the charts, but I’m glad that they raised a lot of money for the SPCA.
I’m wondering if my dogs would react to this song at all. I’m betting Anna would completely ignore it. She doesn’t notice the television or even raise an ear to weird sounds of the radio. Chublet on the other hand pays more attention to such things and might just like the song. Who knows!

I just had to share a link with you guys to an Etsy item I found tonight. I have featured this person’s work before. She makes beautiful felt likenesses of people’s dogs for them. Now, I’ve found that she is felting keychains!

When I took my dogs with me down to Mexico, we stayed in a little village that only got electricity a few years ago. As such, not all of the paths are lighted at night, and we had to hike a little bit to get to our home from the main path. It was very dark at night, and we had to worry about things you wouldn’t normally think of at home, such as sharp rocks, scorpions, snakes, furry creatures, tree roots, garbage, and crossing a river.
We had little LED flashlights, which were super handy as the LED bulbs were very bright and they last FOREVER on one battery. It was unfortunate we didn’t have something similar for the dogs. I wish I had found the website for Nite Ize before that trip.
The company Nite Ize offers all kinds of lighted products and they have a really cool light-up LED collar for dogs called the “Nite Dawg L.E.D Collar”.
The light in this collar can be set to flash or glow and can be seen from up to 1000ft in the dark. It uses a battery that you can replace, but they say that it will last for 100,000 hours.
This looks like the perfect collar for people who like to do things at night with their dogs, or take their dogs with them on adventures. If you’re interested, you can see the product and visit the Nite Ize site by clicking here.
